Welcome!
My name is Bianca and I am a licensed mental health counselor in NY. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. I’ve had a passion for helping others since I was a teenager and I am so grateful that I can speak with people everyday to help them discover their inner strength and power. Taking care of yourself in any way is the most important thing that one can do. It is NOT selfish, rather selfless to love yourself so that you may help your loved ones as well.
What Therapy Is:
During a session of around 45-60 minutes we can discuss anything and everything that you wish to. Remember that this is your session and you have the power! I am here to help you in the way that works best for you. Maybe that is discovering new coping skills, unpacking unresolved trauma, or just venting about your week.
What Modalities I Utilize:
The modality or type of therapy that I practice with is typically Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and Client-Centered. By working with our thoughts we can begin to understand our actions and behaviors a bit better and visa-versa. A client-centered approach allows me to listen to your needs during each and every session. I may add in techniques from other modalities such as Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) or a more Trauma-focused approach as I believe that no one mold fits every person.
Who I Work With:
Currently I am available to work with adolescents (age 13+), young adults, and adults. I am open to individual, couple, and family sessions when needed.
Experience With:
I have past experience with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, self-harming behaviors, ADHD, mood disorders, phase of life transitions, grief, relationship struggles, LGBTQ+ struggles, sexual trauma, disordered eating, body image, and many more situations that people go through.
What I Do NOT Work With:
Currently I do not handle more extreme cases such as anyone current looking for a case manager for any drug/alcohol struggle, anyone in an active CPS/APS case or court mandated therapy. Unfortunately I do not have the resources to assist with severe mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, or Dissociative Identity Disorder at this time.
